Public Safety in Coastal Areas

Saturday 09 October 2021 07:13 AM UTC-07 | Tags: closure public-advisory storm

As a result of strong winds and storm surge from recent weather events, residents are advised to avoid all coastal areas within Conception Bay South, including roads, parks, and portions of the T'Railway.  Pounding surf and waves have created unsafe conditions, and some roads may be impassible.  Hazardous conditions are expected to continue until late Sunday evening, into the morning of Monday, October 11.

Please note that Topsail Beach Rotary Park will also be closed during this time.  An update on reopening will be provided once conditions improve.

The Town would like to thank residents for their cooperation, and remind everyone to continue to monitor weather conditions and alerts from Environment Canada.
